CLANDESTINE 8

🔸 CLANDESTINE🔸  CHAPTER 8  The following day at work Mr. Allan didn't show up at his office all through the day. That was unusual,he wasn't the type who would miss a day at work. Since she started working with the Howells Publishers, Mr. Allan was always there in his office before she arrived except a few times when he was delayed by traffic. A visitor would be forced to believe he normally slept over at the office. Was he sick or had an accident?..may God have mercy... or maybe he travelled during the weekend and couldn't return home for reasons she didn't know.  Or he could probably be at home relaxed inside a duvet taking a warm coffee being tended for but by who? She knew he was very single. Then suddenly, Maureen walked in  "Good morning Davis. I have a report from Arnold Wills." "Yes" "A bandit broke into the building last night and catered away with Mac Murphy's approved manuscripts, all of them." "What!" She was on

🔸CLANDESTINE🔸 CHAPTER 7 Davis Moore was set to commence her office duties the following week. Her skimpy gown was just so fitted on her body. Right before the huge mirror that reached to the top of the ceiling and the base of the room she stood, turned around in circles gazing. Too short...she whispered to herself.  She searched for another gown and after she'd worn it,she stood out again to gaze at her self. Yes better! She didn't have to look too beautiful after all there was no one now to be beautiful for.  She was in a hurry that morning as she didn't want to begin the new week with lateness. She grabbed her handbag and a file and was running down the steps when the doorbell rang. She paused and looked at the ceramic clock hung on the wall.  She started to move very slowly to the door. She demanded to know who was behind it but was greeted with an unfriendly silence. Anita was there at door, after she'd opened up,she looked so sorry and apologetic. She wasn't

🔸 CLANDESTINE 🔸  CHAPTER 5  "You this piece of shit! What are you doing here?  And why did you bring in your filthy feet in here?" She was too impatient to wait for answers to the questions she asked after she had seen Richard at their door step that morning. She moved further and leaned on the door frame with her arms folded, she weighed him with her eyes. "Leave!" She pointed to the gate. "Immediately! Do so before I hurt you!" Richard drifted three feet back and began to plead. He was begging and explaining when Davis Moore disappeared and reappeared in a few seconds with a gun in her hand. "So will you leave in peace or rest in peace? Of course you would'nt rest in peace after I have blown your useless brains out." Richard turned around with his hands raised above his head. "Alright... alright Davie easy..." He was moving towards the gate. "You better stop turning behind else you'd be a corpse. There's a cemetery

🔸CLANDESTINE🔸 CHAPTER 4 The following day she decided to give herself a private holiday. She texted Mr. Allan about being very sick and unable to be at work, she added that she was receiving a home treatment from her mother.  After she'd attended to mails and phone calls from the office, she picked up her headphones and a novel outside the house. She took a walk to their pool with a deck chair and as she went, she shook her head to the rhythm of the song. She sat on the chair and began to read.  The evening breeze was tranquil and she couldn't resist the urge to close her eyes and sleep. When Mama Freda arrived at eve,her cellphone rang,it was Melanie who called to inform her that she and her little girl would be visiting during the weekend. She walked behind her car after they had spoked at length to unload the goods she purchased from the market,a lot of fried fishes, chocolates,a shoe and lots more. She always looked out for Davis Moore.  She was astonished on seeing her da

🔸CLANDESTINE 🔸 CHAPTER 3  Davis Moore drove ...and drove until she got to the zebra crossing. She peered at a father and his two daughters as he held them tightly on their wrist.  They were crossing to the other side of the road and she hated it when something or someone was reminding her about that one thing she wanted to forget. She had a feeling of resentment since that was something she had once experienced.  Dad was still caring, still loving even when she was 20 and she believed she would be happier if she'd seen him after she was discharged from the hospital. Wherever dad was didn't really matter after all she still felt connected to him, still felt they were never separated.  But what if he already was killed? Then that would be extremely awful. She started to drive and reached for the volume button to increase the sound of the music.  Anita lived in a bungalow with Rita her twin sister. Anita had seen her car as she drove in through her window and she disliked the fa

🔸 CLANDESTINE🔸  CHAPTER 2  Davis Moore always had a peculiar fashion sense. She loved a blue bow tie on a tight fitted white collar gown, and always looked sharp with her long dark hair packed up in a hair ruffle behind her back. "Oh Davie you look dashy!" Mama Freda praised her. She blushed. "thank you." She walked swiftly outside the house to the garage. "Davie!" Mama Freda called from the dinning room. "Mother?" She walked back into the house. "I was thinking you will take some toasted bread along." "That? No. There are no more dried fishes in the kitchen. How will I do that?" She pointed to the toasted bread in the fries basket. "Oh! I will get some on my way home." She felt sorry. "It's okay Mother." She turned back and turned around almost immediately. "Have a beautiful day at work." "You too Davie," She moved to the door "lots of love." Davie was already in her c
